workamping Amazon..Campbellsville, KY

Craig and I went to Lexington to buy a TV and we found this. What can it be? Maybe a cross between all these horses and something strange.

Susan is a workamper, having retired from a factory job of 30 years in Van Wert, Ohio. She has chosen to travel and do something different.

Last year she worked the seasonal job at Amazon in Campbellsville, KY. They pay your hours worked and also your camp site. I think they pay between $9 and $11 dollars an hour.

Amazon has pretty well taken over Indian Ridge Campgrounds, Susan stayed here last year. They claimed to be full for the Amazon people but people are cancelling and they are taking names for a waiting list.

So we decided to visit them. They remembered Susan and after a short visit a camp site is available. This is site 42, small but with a great view. Susan reserved it. Now she has a job for 4 months and a place to stay. What a deal!!

A pass KOA this is 45 acres in the heart of Kentucky which sit's on a ridge overlooking the Green River and Tebb's Bend for Civil War enthusiast. Close to Green River Lake where you can boat and fish all day. Tree's, water and field's surround the campground .
Modern camping with a rustic atmosphere.

This is one of the Amazon buildings. If you Google earth, you can see just how huge. Amazon will tell you to prepare to walk 10 to 15 miles a shift!!!

Green River State Park

Took a break and had a picnic at Green River State Park. Someone went brain dead and forgot to take pictures, but trust me, this is a nice, big place. I will go back.

Green River Lake State Park opened in 1969 contains 1,331 acres along with the 8,200-acre lake. The park has many attractions. A marina with 200 covered slips. They even rent boats and jet skis.

This 157-site campground, grocery, a dump station, showers, rest rooms, and a laundry. Has camping March 1 to November 30. This place is large lots of room for swimming, fishing, hiking and relaxing. Saw a lot of people riding around on small mopeds. Must have a sell somewhere close by.

The parks offers 28-miles of multi-use trails for hiking and mountain biking.
