More KY Horse Park

June 29

Man of war, memorial. Located between the parking lot and the visitor center where you purchase your tickets.

This is well done.

The park has several museums.

This exhibit is here only till Oct. Probably a once in a lifetime thing. I took my time and read everything. Two hours later I finished. They did not allow food, camera, cell phones, or anything of those things. You have to check it at the door. They give you a claim number.

This museum has a portrait exhibit on temporary loan.

This is located at the Saddlebred Museum. Price of ticket for the park gets you into this place.

This is Razzle Dazzle, isn’t he cute. Mom’s in the picture, also.

They where so happy to be outside to run and play. See the new boards on the fence. This area has been under repair and the horses have not been able to get out of their stalls.

Mommy came up to Susan. Razzle Dazzle is biting his Mom's ear. And she is letting him. Love has it's rewards.

Ky Horse pictures

Yeah, I think the pictures are now able to enlarge. Just double click on the picture.
Changed a settings on the camera and also checked the medium size on the blogger upload. Of course, that means I don't really know what 'fix' the problem.

Lexington, KY....FEI training class

Still have not received an offer letter, to volunteer for the Equestrian Olympics, but I attended my first 2 hour training course. From 9:30 to 11:30 I listened to what they want. Still have no idea what 'job' I might have.

The games are Sept 25 to Oct 5. They call us WIG Heroes. That's about right because they do not offer much for our time. One lady, who lives in Louisville, KY, said she has reserved a place to stay at the barracks, at $50 a night.

Parking and getting in and out of the park is going to be a night mare. I still have not decided where I will stay.

Both Susan and I are sick. Sore throat, swolling glands. Susan more than me. Just need to rest. More soon!!!

Georgetown, KY...KY horse park

Site 9 Ky Horsepark Campground..almost full moon

My friend Susan and I managed to get the Condo backed out of the back yard and hooked the TOAD. Did have problems, no lights on the TOAD and the generator tray on the condo, would not latch shut.

Crawled under the generator and forced the latch closed and just traveled without the lights on the TOAD. Sheeesh, very nerve whacking. Susan was a trouper and hung in there, I know she probably wanted to run.

By the time we drove 45 miles to the Horse Park, all was better. We are in site 9. They provide water and 50 amp service, but you have to use dump stations. That is fine. Cost was $48 dollars for two nights. Fee for the Horse Park is between $18 and $21. We had passes, I picked them up about 10 months ago in Danville, KY., so our cost was 0. What a deal!!!

What a lot of walking. This place is a bigger than you can imagine. Will explain another day. Time for me to stretch out and rest.

What a great day, today has been. Everyone should see this place.

Tell later.....Oh, sweet Chief was left home with Craig. I miss my buddie!!!!

Don't Forget! Sign Up For Training Today!

Don't Forget! Sign Up For Training Today!

Guess being able to read minds will be a requirement for this job. I have not received an offer letter!!

I’ve scheduled my two hour training for Sat. I thought the training was going to be over the internet, but I need to be in Lexington for this training.

This is part of email.

The month of June has been extremely busy training over 1500 local volunteers. As you know attending General training is required in order to volunteer with the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

Since our selection process will be concurrent in some ways with our general training process, we wanted you to be able to schedule your general training even if you haven’t received a formal offer letter for a general volunteer position yet. If you are some of the few who haven’t received that letter, don’t worry. We are trying to have the vast majority of all formal offers completed soon. You can still complete your training without the formal offer. You need to sign up for a session in the next week. We are making final selections for general volunteer positions and we need to give those spots to people who have attended all of the required activities.
We look forward to seeing you in general training. Remember, this training takes you one step closer to that fantastic experience that awaits us at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

H'burg, KY...Levelers fix.TOAD level

RV repairman, David McGhee from Elizabeth town, KY, showed up Saturday. Remember we changed the ignition switch but still could not get the control panel for the levelers to light up, when the key is in the ACC position. David unscrewed the control panel and just wiggled the connections under the panel, turned the key to ACC and all worked. Isn't that wonderful. We could have done that!!! But David went on to explain the lights and answered our questions. Do you dump the air from bags, before leveling? How long do you hold the buttons down?

He also found a linkage broken on the rear air bags. He wired it together tell we can fix.

He measure our awning to order it. Turns out the awning is a A & E that is no longer made. So he will order, but it will take 2 to 3 weeks to get, not the 2 days he said over the phone. Checked all the other awnings.
Looked at the Norcold Fridge recall 'fix'. Said it is a mess. We have had problems ever sense they fixed the Fridge. He will call Norcold for approver.
Talked about the dash AC not cooling.

Talked about new Satellite.

A hour and 45 minutes later we wrote a $140 dollar check and agreed to bring the Condo to the RV shop, for the dash AC fix and the Norcold fridge fix.

Sounds like a lot of dollars flying out the window but we want to spend for these extras now. We have a pay check coming in and it doesn't hurt so bad. After Dec. Craig will stop work, after 30 years with Flour Daniel and 8 years in Air Force, we will only have our savings. I don't know how other people handler these changes but I am worried, worried. But this is going to happen. It is time. When did you stop working?? (at a job you went to everyday) Did you regret that move?
TESTED THE TOAD AGAIN
Added this 6" riser to our receiver hitch. The Blue OX riser is rated for 10,000 pounds, Craig says I over do things. Gee, you think!!! The Condo has a 10,000 pd rating, the Roadmaster All Terrain tow bar is their biggest and is rated for 10,000 pounds. My a-symmetric mind says that makes sense.

H'burg, Ky...Fort Harrods State Park

Fort Harrod holds a special place in Kentucky history as the first permanent settlement in the area that would become the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Founded by James Harrod in 1774, a reconstructed fort occupies land near the original site in Harrodsburg, Kentucky.

Pioneer Cemetery
This is the oldest cemetery west of the Allegheny Mountains, and contains graves of 500 pioneers

Osage Orange Tree
One of the most unique trees in the nation, this specimen is a must-see. This tree is taller and broader than the national champion, but remains the unofficial national champion because of its split trunk. Circa late 18th century.

Lincoln Marriage Temple
A brick building shelters the cabin where Abraham Lincoln’s parents were married. The cabin was moved from the original site near Springfield, Kentucky, where Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Hanks were married June 12, 1806.

Ignition part did not fix the leveler jacks. Last evening Craig did get this put back together with the new part. But the RVA Leveler jacks still are not responding. We a nervous about trying tooooooo much and doing more damage, because we aren’t experienced.

Found an RV repair guy that comes to you. David MgGhee lives in Elizabeth Town, Ky., about 60 miles from us. He said he is coming this way and will come by tomorrow (Saturday) to see what we have.

Our awning that goes out with the slide is tearing, and will soon come right off. I know he can fix that. We are hoping he can do the leveler jack fix. Cross your figures.

As soon as the Condo is reliable, Susan and I will take off. We like to go rock hunter and exploring. Craig can come on the weekends. I’m ready to head out. I hope you will join us and read about our adventures.

PPL in Houston, TX sells RV’s on consignment and RV supplies. Ordered this 6” hitch riser and all these bug screens. The riser is a Blue OX brand and rated to tow 10,000 pounds, a very strong connection. Craig said I have over done it, again.

Absolutely none of the bug screens fit anything on the Condo. Oh Oh.
