Harrodsburg has a Beef Festival, this is their 5th year. So I thought I would volunteer to help.
Friday we set tables and chairs up, unloaded a trailer of straw, and transported a bunch of stored stuff for the wine and cheese taste.
Really worked up a sweat but we finished just as the sky opened and it poured. Really poured. We have had pop up, afternoon showers, all week.
These are the kids I worked with. Good kids. They are volunteering because they want to go to 4H summer camp. A one week camp that you stay. The Mercer county agriculture people put the fair on and they pay these kids to work, with United Way money.
400 miles, 4 days of Garage Sales called Hwy 68 Sales
Lots of garage sales, Hwy 68 goes thru this town. You never know what you will see in a garage sale, but this really was different.
Floyd Shirley and his son built this. His son was attending college in Ohio and purchased this model of a dinosaur. Asked his Dad if the diagram could be blown up 200 times. Dad said yes.
So, Dad and son copied this and made the dinosaur out of plywood. Guess, the thing is 20 years old. They only pull it out occasionally. Makes for a great eye catcher
