Hinton, OK....Red Rock Canyon State Park

Camped out here in this Canyon, hiding from the chilly weather. Probably not a good idea to head north just yet. They have snow and ice and flooding in South Dakota. Craig's brother says some roads are not passable. This will make our fourth night. No sewer hook up, but we do have electric and water. Staying still and not running around all day has helped with organizing and working on our taxes. I have the best followers, a suggestion to use Command hooks is the best.

Oklahoma..Exit 1 off I-40

Just sitting and waiting for the high winds to calm down. This is a Passport America campground and 50 amp site is $12, with a two day limit. All pull thrus and within site of I-40. Perfect.

Trying to clean and organize our stuff. Having a trough time with this. I think if you are going full time or part time/full time it would help to 'live' in your RV near your home. Give yourself time to find how to stow stuff.

Where is the dirty cloths going, where are the cloths you take off in the morning/night but will be worn again, go. Etc Etc Etc.

Hoping I get over being so lazy and catch up on the blog. We really have been doing the tourist thing and I have wonderful pictures.

All is well and some of the stress level is going down. Yes, their is stress in this life style.

Oh, Craig just came inside from walking the dogs. Says 'you should see the stars' sounds like I should see the stars. Out the door I go.

Balmorhea, TX....Saddleback Mtn RV Park

Left Frederickburg, TX and drove about 300 miles. We are headed to McDonald Observatory tomorrow. Not the route I had planned but time limits have caused us to shorten our stay in Texas.

Saddleback Mtn RV Park is in the Passport America plan and honors only one night. So for $10 we arrived about 3 pm.

Suppose to have wifi, satellite TV and a restaurant but all of that is not available tonight. That is what the lady in the office/store said. What they do have is OK with us. Pull thru long sites with two sewer connections on each site. Also, great electric power.

Lots of birds and quail to watch from your windows.
We walked the 5 acre garden and enjoyed the walk. Guess Craig and I are just easy to entertain.

Headed 40 miles to Fort Davis tomorrow and the MacMillen RV park.

Lost a follower today. So sad.

Fredericksburg, TX....Retirement is tiring

Wow, this retirement and gypsy life style is exhausting. But we have had a great time and meet great people. Will try to find time to write about this.

When we where leaving Louisiana, it seem that we have lots of time to go everywhere. But that is not the case. Their is never enough time. We have planned to be in South Dakota in April and then to Goshen, Indiana (for the HR Rally) by the end of April.

Sooooo, we need to cut some things out. We are on a fast pace learning curve. Such is life.

It is night, night time.
Sweet dreams to all, and to all a good night.

New Braunfels, TX..Lazy L & L campground

Sunset over the Canyon Lake Dam. About 12 miles from camp.

Arrived here on the Gaudalupe River Thursday and paid for one week (7 nights). This campground is listed in the Passport America book. But we paid $150 for the week. I was thinking that the charge would be around $115 to $120, but I was to tired to ask.

Their is about 20 snow birds here now.

Jennings, LA...Wal Mart Unfriendly

Finally got a wifi connection. Our Verizon MiFi does not work in the park and their free wifi was toooo slow.

We left Tickfaw State Park in Springfield, La and drove to the Texas Welcome Rest area.

View from patio. See the white bird fishing?

Passed by Jennings, La and needed to shop at Wal Mart. I like a Jambalaya Mix made by Oak Grove Smoke house and forgot to pack it. So we thought we could stop and buy it in Jennings.

Beautiful, new store that we could see from I-10. Exit and found the right turn to get on the frontage road. Well, at EVERY entrance to the parking lot where steel beams, that said 'clearance 12 feet'. We need exactly 12 feet to clear but I'm sure not going to trust someone to measure exactly 12 feet. So we just left and continued down I-10.

I thought this was rude. Only says that they do not want RV's in their beautiful store. What makes this funny is that we where only stopping to shop, not 'camp'.

Stopped at a rest stop and waited for the sun to drop. We choose to drive thru Houston around midnight. This worked out great. Just breezed thru. Stopped in Sequin (Wal Mart) to rest. And yes we did shopped, and found the Jambalaya mix we where looking for.

On to New Braunfels.

Louisiana...on the roadssan

Drove 20 miles to Trickfaw State Park. We are stressed. Need to organize. Will stray two days.
