One week and we goooooo

We are working sooooo hard to complete our lists.   Do you make lists????

We have a huge to-do list for the house and one for the coach.  At some point all will stop and we will just pull away.  Part of me can't wait to pull out and part of me wants to stay in my house to  make it pretty.  If you have read previous post, you understand that we hardly ever live in this house.   It has just sat here needing maintenance and love.  Oh well,  maybe next year.  I still want to keep to our 2 year plan.  Craig was laid off of work Dec. 20 th 2010.  We decided to take two years off and travel with total freedom.  No working and actually spending money.  We are living on savings.  Hard to believe that a full year raced by.

The Condo went to Big Wheels repair shop in Hammond, La. and $1,000.00 later we now (think) all of the routine maintenance items are done.  We have been in the shop 4 times, this year, and ever time the bill is around a thousand dollars.  What's up with that.  This time, we changed the transmission fluid and filters, that big belt, repacked front wheel bearings and replaced the hydraulic and water filters.   These expenses need to slow down or Craig will be returning to work. Our Coach is running and doing great, we just want to know all these items are done.  Done by us.  The dealer said they did all of this but we have found that they lied.  Go figure.

I miss blogging and I am hoping to learn to post pictures, again.  So many bloggers are great writers with clever funny ways of saying things.  I know I am not one of those, but I do care.

Enough about poor me.  Let's start our engines and goooooo RVing.

My Coachmen Class B RV is just sitting in the yard.  I miss it.  The famous Chief and I put 110,000 camping miles in the RV.  I can't seem to let it go.  Maybe I should sale it.  We did it without GPS or cell phones.  Just me and my dog.  Took guts, several times I was scared and in a bad place.  Ten years traveling in the B coach, traveled 4 to 5 months of the year and usually traveled 6,000 - 6,500 miles.  Not bad of a crazy coon-ass lady.  Those where the big trips.

I call the RVing world. THE OLDER FLOKS SPRING BREAK, AND WE ARE NOT TELLING THE KIDS HOW MUCH FUN WE ARE HAVING.

Planning 2012 trip

In 2011 our trip to the east coast, all the way to Prince Edward Island lasted about 8 months.

In 2012 we will head West, but will do different.  First we hope to be in McAllen, TX by Jan. 25th and stay about two weeks to visist with Craig's uncle.  They have snowbirded here for the last 15 years.

Then to Big Bend for a few days.  Then AZ and meet up with other RVer's.  Then to the Grand Canyon area.  Should stay their long term and tour in the CRV.  All depends on the weather (temp).

My goal is to have June July August in northern CA and OR.

Looks like this will put about 7,500 miles on the coach.  In 2011 we put 8,500 miles on the Coach.

I am soooooo ready but I do not want to be in the Coach and be in very cold weather.  Just saying.

Still in house in Louisiana

We are doing fine, just not managing my time.  Lazy.

We joined a small group of Holiday Rambler owners in Foley, Al for the Blue Angel show, then a campout in Patterson, Louisiana  and last week we went to a Ocean Properties spill on their club membership.  They only wanted $8,000 down and about $500 dollars a year in dues.  We passed, but did get a gift card for a turkey and a Android Tablet.  Not the best tablet but OK.

We will go to another Campout with the HR group Jan 7 and then off on this years' trip out west.

Big house in Louisiana

We are in the Louisiana house.  Always a lot of work to make this stick and vinyl house liveable.

Last time we where here, we had about a 1/2 dozen Bats.  This time we had the whole village.  Looks like they don't like us because they are gone, I hope.  Still need to get in the attic and see if they just moved, there.

Monday we will drive 200 miles to Pensacola, Fl.  The local chapter of the Holiday Rambler Owner's is planning to attend the Blue Angels Air Show and we would like to join them.  Looking forward to meeting this Louisiana group.  We have booked  7 days at Johnny's RV resort in Foley, Al.

I really want to do better about posting this blog.  I have a lot to talk about and show.  But I get sooooo lazy and then time just gets by.  Part of my problem is that I use my Verizon Smart Phone to read my daily blogs and almost never open the big laptop and hook to the Verizon MiFi.  Now, in the house, I can leave the big laptop out and easy to get to, so hope to do better.

Tried for 10 minutes to post one picture but blogger has changed things and I can not do it.  Need help.

Driveway parking, Greenville, SC

Travels have been great, but I have been selfish and lazy.  Not wanting to take the time to post.  Now I am getting e-mails reminding me that 9-11 was my last post.  Thank you, Joe.

Anyway, we are visiting friends here in Taylors, SC.  This area is very pretty, you can see the mountains that are Ashville, NC.  Yesterday Craig and I drove around Hwy 11 and Flat Rock State Park.  We lived here for over 3 years.  Flour Inc. has a very nice office here, it is huge.  Craig got to go in and visited with a bunch of the people he used to work with.  He and a few guys have gone to the gun club to shoot skeet.  They will do it again Sunday.  Tomorrow (Saturday) we will drive to Brice Stadium in Columbia, SC. to see the Auburn/South Carolina game.

Tell then.  Oh, thanks to all for you patience.
