Bats in the attic.....Reallly

During the trip to the Louisiana house last week, we discovered that the house has new tennants. Bats....we had a bat (one) in the attic for years and that was OK. A renter decided to kill it, so that bat has been gone. But, now This is what I found. At least 6 bats, it was dark and the picture didn't come out very good.

Second try.

This is the wall for the tunnel steps that goes from the garage, under the house, up to the living area.

This wall goes all the way, to the ceiling, that is the attic. See the babies, the darker spot, about the center of the pic.

Not sure if any other bats are actually in the attic. Will worry about that when we get moved home next week.

We have all this bat poop to clean when we get home. These guys where not there in April. Hopefully, we can build a bat house near the canal in the back yard and get these guys out.

Boats in the ditches!!!

This boat was in the ditch. There were two. I wondered why. Took this picture from my back deck. What a waste, wonder who pays for this pick up and whoes boat this was.

Rental truck on order...This is going to happen

Called the u haul place and booked the truck......Scheduled for Thurs the 20th.

Manage to get this big company to reduce the $774.00 charge to $534.00. The man on the phone was reluctant but ended up dealing with me. I would have paid $600.00, so this price pleases me. Now we have to find (paid) help to load the truck here in Harrodsburg, KY and we think some of the neighbors in Louisiana will be available to unload.

Packing to move is boring

Not a thing here is interesting. Packing to move is boring. We are slow to get all this done. Maybe we are overdoing the details. We pack like this stuff is going into storage for years. All boxes are marked with the contents and listed on a note pad, plus marked with the location the box is to go into the Louisiana house and weather to unpack or leave for later.

Still having my moving sale, but with the horrible weather, it is horrible slow. So I listed furniture on two swap shops, on the radio. The Danville, KY radio and a Harrodsburg, KY radio. Both aired at 3 pm and I received only one phone call.

Tuesday, Jan. 18th is the date I've chosen to pick up the rental truck. Wish us luck.

Reader Joe has just made a similar move. Almost 1000 miles. He has stated that when they finally packed the rental truck and headed home to Texas, they thought the worst was over. And that just is not the case, as Joe said, unpacking and finding room for everything and decided what not to keep, is a chore. I know he is right and hope to only unpack a few boxes and leave the rest for next Oct, when we are scheduled to return home from our Maine trip.

H'burg, KY....made 9 dollars

Our moving sale brought in $9.00 today. But a great deal of stuff left this house. Why, because it was priced as free. Amazing. Why can't I just take this out to the trash?

What counts is that I have let things goooooooo. Yeaaaaaa. I am happy.

Harrodsburg, KY.....Moving Sale..some junk gone

Left the Louisiana house around 9 am, Wed morning. Craig, Susie and I drove all day. Arrived in KY around midnight.

Susie enjoyed her first Southern Shower. A storm drove thru the Louisiana house early. This delayed us leaving, for the 12 hour drive. But who wants to pack and drive in a thunderstorm.

I had put a 'Moving Sale' ad in the Harrodsburg newspaper, that comes out ever Thursday. So we had to get the sale things displayed. Had a lot of business, sold $70. I know it does not sound like much money but I have priced this stuff almost at give away. Which is what I want, that is, this stuff to go away.

All we have left to move is the Condo (big motorhome), the Hondo CRV and the rental U-Haul truck.

Well, back to packing. I am soooooo glad to have my husband here to help. Usually, all of this is on me.

I'm not sure that I will get all this done before Jan. 15th. This is putting stress on me. Somehow I suppose it will all be OK. My time schedule all ready is two weeks off. This house should be packed and moved to the Louisiana house.

Thanks to Susie for driving 1,600 miles in less than 30 hours.
